Social Justice Books
The killing of George Floyd has made many politicians, police departments, and people all over the world finally acknowledge that African Americans and people of color in this country are not given equal rights and protections that everyone should be guaranteed by law. The trauma of systemic racism can impact the physical, mental and emotional well being of the people it targets. Reading books that recognize these struggles can educate, entertain and enlighten when you identify and see yourself in the characters or simply want to learn about what people who may not look like you are experiencing. The Social Justice Books website has assembled a list of books that address these issues here.
