Sora at NYPL and Brooklyn Public Library Orientation

Great news students, add NYPL and Brooklyn Public Library in your Sora account for even more access to audiobooks and eBooks. First apply for an eCard from these library systems: Brooklyn Library, NYPL. Add these libraries once you log-in to your account, finally use the barcode number you are assigned to sign-out resources in Sora. More information will be sent to your Library Google Classroom. 

Library Orientation 2020-2021 Open eBooks

Open eBooks is one of our resources for independent reading this school year and it's really easy to use on your smartphone or tablet.
You must first get the app here.
Everyone has been sent an access code and PIN number to Login into the app.
Then, you can select up to 10 books at a time from their wide selection of titles. You can see available titles here.

Library Orientation 2020-2021 Audible

Audible is currently offering free audiobooks for all students. Visit the site here, select a category, read book description, finally start listening. It's that easy. Books can be streamed on desktops, laptops, phones or tablets.

Library Orientation 2020 Queens Public Library

Every Queens Tech student has access to the Queens Public Library eBook and audiobook collection through Sora. Simply add the Queens Public Library in your Sora account, then you will be able to borrow books immediately. If you attempt to borrow a book and it prompts you to enter your library card number, click on the drop down menu, then select NYCDOE. 

Digital resources are available with an ecard including research databases, Brainfuse for homework help and other digital media. 

Click on titles in the slide for more information on eBooks at Queens Library and their vendors. Click on titles in the second slide after you sign into Sora to see available eBooks at Queens Library.

You can Log In with your school email and password, take a look around. If you see an eBook you are interested in click on it, select more details, if you would like to check it out, select open and start reading it's that simple.
